What Is latest News On JAMB UTME Cut Off Mark 2021/2022

Here is a breakdown of JAMB cut off point for all higher Institution in Nigeria.

  • Cut off mark for all public (State / Federal) Universities is 160
  • Cut off mark for all Private Universities is 140
  • Cut off mark for all public polytechnics is 120
  • JAMB UTME Cut Off Mark for all Private polytechnics is 110
  • Lastly, JAMB cut off mark for all colleges of education is 100

What Is Admission Eligibility?

Have you every been confused when you hear the word “eligibility or Requirements”. You will thank me after reading this article.

Admission Eligibility simple means the things (requirements) you need to have before you become qualified to apply for admission in any school of your choice.

However, every school have their own admission eligibility. Admission eligibility is often set for Post-UTME application or screening.

The eligibility criteria used in screening applicants for admission includes;

  • Jamb UTME Result
  • Those who have the right subjects combinations
  • Age requirement for admission
  • Fixed JAMB cut off mark
  • Number of subjects you need to pass in your O-level
  • Post UTME cut off point etc.

Often time, students make a common mistake by choosing the wrong subjects when registering for JAMB.

For example, if you want to apply for courses like Medicine or Nursing, you must have credit passes (A, B, or C) in relevant subjects. Such subjects includes; English language, mathematics, Chemistry, Biology and physics.

Most schools want you to have at least 5 credit passes which must include English and Mathematics.

What Is O-level?

This is another important admission requirements most applicants don’t understand. O-level result is your Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination commonly known as SSCE

O-level Certificate includes any of;

  • West African Examination Council (WAEC)
  • National Examination Council (NECO)
  • General Certificate Of Examination (GCE)
  • National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB)

In addition, not every school accepts NABTEB. You need to check JAMB brochure to know if your school of choice is accepting students NABTEB result.

Change Of Course / Institution

Every Candidates are eligible to apply for JAMB change of course or Institution. However, you can only do this 2 times.

Also, the cost to do JAMB change of department / Institution is N2,000 only.

In addition to this, you can not change the subjects you wrote in JAMB. For more information, visit any JAMB office to know if you can cancel your JAMB registration and apply for new one.

Subjects Requirements / Combinations

This includes selecting the right subjects in JAMB. You are to select the most important subjects that is related to the course / department you are applying for.

Furthermore, you need to consider your the subjects you passed in WAEC, NECO, GCE or NABTEB.

If you are afraid of Post-UTME / aptitude test examination, you can go for schools that do not write screening exams.

When Would Schools Start Giving Admission?
